On the basis of the careful organization and repeated practice of the party committee of the school, by following the principle of “peaking shifting and returning by batch”, 563 students in the nursing, nursing (concentration in ICU) and midwifery majors of Grade 2018 came back to the school on June 9. On the morning of that day, as guided by the working staff, the students arriving at the east gate, dragging their luggage cases and wearing a mask queued up with an interval of 1.5 meters and above to wait for identify verification, luggage disinfection, body temperature check, mask changing, health code verification and personal journey query. After going through the reporting procedures, they would claim an “epidemic prevention bag”, reach the student apartment by referring to the designated route and access the dormitory after they passed the second body temperature check and identity verification. The whole process was orderly. Many teachers, each of whom is also a communist, formed a volunteer team and actively participated in various works of student returning at the communist volunteer service points respectively established at the east gate and in the dormitory.

At the railway station, the school leaders led to welcome the students for their returning, making the students getting off the train experience the warmth and care of the school. After arriving in Zhengzhou, the students returned to the campus by the “loving bus” specially arranged by the school, reducing the potential risk brought by the public transport means.

Xu Yan, Kong Fanshi and other school leaders provided every student with an “epidemic prevention bag” and carefully advised them to pay attention to self-protection, strictly abide by various regulations of the school on epidemic prevention and control and complete the study and practical training tasks after they returned to the school.
The party committee of the school paid high attention to the returning and study resumption work, and put the fitness and security of the teachers and students in the first place. To guarantee that no risk would be generated in the returning work, the school strictly implemented the general requirements of the special education system shift of the COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control headquarters of Henan province on “five accuracies”, and adopted various epidemic prevention and control measures and feasibly carried out the epidemic prevention and control work by referring to the guidance standard indicated in Article 41 of “Nine Implementations”. The school held several party committee meetings and special meetings for discussion and deployment, formulated a scientific, complete and feasible student return and study resumption program and organized a drill for student return and student resumption for 3 times. Each relevant unit cooperated with each other closely, and sufficiently prepared for the epidemic prevention and control material reservation, emergency handling of every abnormity and accommodation and logistical support, making the school smoothly pass the check and acceptance of the special shift.
Before student return, the school specially shot a short video about the Notice for the First-batch Returning Students of Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College, showing the daily protection in the school access, accommodation, dining and class attending and published it by a new media platform, such as the WeChat Official Account of “Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College” or “Student Home of Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College” to remind the students of the returning notes. To welcome the first batch of returning students, the school prepared 563 epidemic prevention bags, including the daily protection articles, such as masks, wet tissues, thermometers, alcohol hand sanitizers and hankies, organized the teaching and administrative staff to form a communist volunteer service team for the epidemic prevention and control and prepared 113 dormitories for the first batch of returning students. The personal belongings of the students were carried from the Xingfu campus to the student dormitories located on the new campus, eliminating the trouble of luggage carrying after they returned to the school.
After student return, the school implemented the closed-off and grid management, strictly performed the systems of “daily report”, “zero report” and “three checks in the morning, at the noon and in the evening” and put the time-sharing teaching and off-peak dining into practice. The students were required to scan a QR code when they accessed the dormitory, went to class, had dinner and went shopping on the campus, so that their movements could be traced by the information technology. In the meantime, the school also organized all the returning students and the teaching and administrative staff closely contacting the students to accept a nucleic acid test without any charge. Before the results of the nucleic acid tests were finalized, the students must be separated in their dormitories. During the period of separation, the school would organize the student volunteers to deliver the meals to every dormitory, minimizing the movements of the students on the campus. To guarantee the teaching effect after the student returned to the school, the College of Nursing as the first college whose students returned in the first batch, held an entire staff training meeting, to conduct a special training twice for the teaching grid director, formulated the Notice of the Returning Students on Access to the Training Room and the Class Timetable and required the students to go to class in different time frames by floor, avoiding the students from gathering in the teaching rooms and canteens. Also, the school strengthened the educational administration, comprehensively checked every class and assisted the grid director in handling every emergency.
