On June 1, as coordinated by and supported by the leaders of China Railway Zhengzhou Group Co., Ltd. and each level of leaders of the relevant office, Zhengzhou locomotive depot, Zhengzhou life depot and Shangqiu station, the project of locomotive driving internship of the students in the electric locomotive driver training class for the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway took place smoothly.
12 students were ready on the first day
On the early morning of that day, 34 Ethiopian students stood in front of Boya Building in the school and were ready. As the employees of CCECC-CREC JV Project Office, they were going to accept the locomotive driving internship in the Zhengzhou locomotive depot of China Railway Zhengzhou Group Co., Ltd. At 12:45, the first group of students got on the locomotive of Train K742 as led by the adviser, marking the beginning of the locomotive driving internship. At15:15, Train K742 arrived at the Shangqiu station on time. The relevant leaders of the Shangqiu station and the Shangqiu apartment and the adviser assigned by the school to the Shangqiu station were waiting in the Shangqiu station to arrange the students to get off the locomotive, exit the station and check in the apartment for rest.

The internship was the last learning content formulated for the electric locomotive driver training class of our school for the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway and the most important link. As the internship occurring during the period of the COVID-19 outbreak, the leaders of China Railway Zhengzhou Group Co., Ltd. authorized the vocational training department to convene a special meeting with the Zhengzhou locomotive depot, Zhengzhou station, Zhengzhou life depot, Shangqiu station and Shangqiu apartment, to finalize the epidemic prevention and control requirements for the batch of students in the locomotive driving internship, locomotive routing, transportation scheme after the students got off the locomotive and exited the station, mid-way business instruction, apartment accommodation, meal, and shift, organize the persons of the relevant offices to add an internship train to Shangqiu specially before internship and experience the internship route and work details, paying lots of efforts for the smooth implementation of the internship and sufficiently guaranteeing the internship to proceed smoothly in the aspects of business and work, student life and epidemic prevention and control. Some experts from the Zhengzhou locomotive depot conducted a safety education for the internship, and formulated a series of detailed schemes for the attendance, waiting in the apartment, learning in the driver room, and exiting.
The smooth locomotive driving internship of the students in the electric locomotive driver training class for the Addis Ababa-Djibouti railway is the specific measure of our school to actively respond to “the Belt and Road” Initiative of the state and serve the Chinese railway strategy of “going out” through the cooperation between the school and China Railway Zhengzhou Group Co., Ltd.
