On June 17, our college held an on-line seminar with the Railway College of Ethiopia Railway Group and the Sunmaker Oil & Gas Training Institute for the cooperation in education with Ethiopia. Michael, the chief executive officer of Railway College of Ethiopia Railway Group, Abia, the deputy chief executive officer, Nick Dear, the project manager of the World Bank of East Africa, Duan Xiaofei and Gong Zhiwu, the vice presidents of the Sunmaker Oil & Gas Training Institute, Xu Yan, the secretary of the party committee, Kong Fanshi, the deputy secretary of the party committee and the president, Dong Lisheng, the vice president, and the heads of the relevant functional departments and secondary schools attended in the seminar. Duan Xiaofei, the vice president of the Sunmaker Oil & Gas Training Institute chaired the seminar.
In the seminar, Xu Yan made a speech firstly, welcomed the representative of each party attending the seminar and hoped every party to work together to establish a branch in Ethiopia for Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College. After that, Duan Xiaofei, the vice president of the Sunmaker Oil & Gas Training Institute introduced the implementation background of the Construction Plan of High-level Vocational Colleges & Specialties with Chinese Characteristics and the cooperation intention, scope and mode of these three parties.
Kong Fanshi introduced in detail the basic information and international cooperation intention of the school. He indicated that the school would create the “excellent project” regarding international education cooperation, provide the cross-border education services, offer the “Chinese program” for the international vocational education, deepen the diversified exchange mechanism, construct a “community of shared interests” for the China-Ethiopia transportation education, and bring the important role of the education cooperation into full play in the construction of “the Belt and Road” by taking the opportunity of the “Construction Plan of high-level Vocational Colleges & Specialties with Chinese Characteristics” and merging the excellent international resources.
Abia, the deputy chief executive officer of the Railway College of Ethiopia Railway Group introduced the school information and development vision and hoped these three parties to deeply cooperate with each other in four aspects of course development and teaching system design, teacher team capacity building and teaching information capacity building and 10 professional fields. Dong Lisheng introduced the information of the rail transit major in the school and raised some suggestions for the talent cultivation mode and project promoting mechanism.
After negotiation and communication, these three parties have agreed to establish a management committee, set up a joint working group, enter into a cooperation agreement and promote the project to be implemented as soon as possible.
