On November 23, the Opening Ceremony of the Research Center for Vocational Capacity Reconstruction of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education and the Thematic Education Symposium were held in the first conference hall of the office building in the school. Lu Xin, the chairman of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education and the former vice minister of the Ministry of Education, Zhu Qingmeng, the vice chairman of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education and the director of the education, science, culture and health work committee of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress in Henan and Chen Yinting, a member of the party group of the education department of Henan and the vice head of the Education Department of Henan were present. The guests coming from the education, science, culture and health work committee of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress in Henan, the vocational education and adult education office of the Education Department of Henan, the school planning, construction and development center of the Ministry of Education and the Open University of China and the representatives of the school teachers and students, about 500 persons, respectively participated in the activity in the first conference hall and the second conference hall by live video streaming. Lu Xin, the chairman of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education and the former vice minister of the Ministry of Education closely combined the vivid practice of vocational education reform with the thematic education of “remaining true to the original aspiration and keeping the mission in mind” and delivered a thematic education report with the theme of the Fortitude of Vocational Education and Culture Confidence and Integrated Development of Vocational Education Students in the Inheritance and Innovation of the Excellent Traditional Cultures of China. She emphasized that the excellent traditional culture of China was the root of vocational education culture, the fortitude of vocational education and culture confidence was the foundation of developing the modern vocational education, the cultural influence and virtue fostering was the essence of improving the quality of vocational education, and the all-around development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor education was the historical mission of the modern vocational education. She pointed out that the vocational capacity reconstruction was a permanent topic faced in the education field. In the historical course of comprehensive social progress, continuous industry upgrade and standing up, getting rich and becoming stronger of Chinese people, everybody was involved in the vocational capacity reconstruction. With the rapid development of the digital age and the fast iteration of technologies and skills, more higher requirements were raised for life-long education. The Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education settled the Research Center for Vocational Capacity Reconstruction in Zhengzhou, and constructed a collaborative innovation research platform in Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College to actively explore a diversified talents cultivation system and enrich the technology and skill talents cultivation mode of vocational education. The research center proposes to serve the vocational education to develop in a high-quality manner in several forms, for example, convene an annual capacity reconstruction forum, organize a specially-appointed expert database, recommend the research result cases and formulate a vocational capacity research report and white paper.

In April of this year, Wang Guosheng, the secretary of the provincial party committee made a special trip to Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College for investigation and convened a vocational education symposium, to emphasize to deeply study and implement the important indication of General Secretary Xi Jinping on vocational education and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and provide more innovative, skillful and practical talents for the high-quality development of Henan. In recent years, the school closely centered on the main task of virtue fostering, scientifically judged new requirements of the new age and new business form on vocational education, actively explored the vocational capacity reconstruction of the students and created the “Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College Mode” regarding the cultivation of technology and skill talents. The Research Center should sufficiently bring the leading and demonstration effect into full play, actively explore the reconstruction education and teaching, course system and talents cultivation mode research, and promote and apply the new concept, method and mode of vocational education reconstruction capacity in the nation-wide vocational colleges and universities, help the province and the country perfect the modern vocational education and training system and implement the spirit of the National Education Conference and the National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan.

It means the response of the Chinese Society for Technical and Vocational Education to the network information technology development wave, the active undertaking for the Chinese industry transformation and upgrade and the exploration for the construction of the vocational education system with Chinese characteristics. During the preparation of the Research Center, the school firstly carried out the capacity reconstruction model research, the capacity reconstruction mode research for the integration between education and training, and the vocational capacity reconstruction research for the teachers in the vocational colleges and universities, having made great achievements in the aspects of the vocational capacity reconstruction of teachers and students and the improvement of the school’s ability for scientific innovation, talents cultivation and country demand satisfaction in the field of artificial intelligence.
