As invited by the Asian-international Trade and Investment Association, from November 7 to 10, Dong Lisheng, the vice president led to participate in the Second China (Bangkok) Education Industry International Cooperation Exhibition and Thai-Chinese Secondary and Higher Education Project Fair Meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand. During the period, as one of the founding members, our college initiated to establish the “Thai-Chinese Education Alliance” together with 16 Chinese and Thai colleges and universities. Kong Fanshi, the president was appointed as the counselor of the Cultural Education Committee of the Asian-international Trade and Investment Association and the expert of the Thai-Chinese Education Alliance.
The representatives of 22 domestic colleges and universities and educational institutions, including the secretariat of the organizing committee of the China - ASEAN Education Cooperation Week and Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology were present. Nattaphol Teepsuwan, the minister of the Ministry of Education in Thailand, and Nutnapa Ruenobcheoy, the assistant to the minister of Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation received the delegation and raised some comments and suggestions for the Chinese-Thai education exchange. After that, the delegation visited Siam University, Kasem Bundit University and Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin and discussed with 5 education industry associations.
On the basis of sufficient early negotiation, on November 8, the school jointly initiated the establishment of the “Thai-Chinese Education Alliance” with Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan and other 16 Chinese and Thai colleges and universities and was elected as a member of the first presidium of the Alliance. The Alliance will create a Chinese-Thai higher education exchange platform, deepen and coordinate for talents cultivation, promote the cross-border movements of students, accelerate the Chinese-Thai people-to-people exchange, explore the regional integration of industry and education and cultivate international high-quality talents for the construction of “the Belt and Road” and the “4.0 Thailand” strategy in the principles of “opening-up and inclusiveness, complementary advantages, information sharing and win-win cooperation”.
In the opening meeting of the Alliance, Dong Lisheng entered into a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, Siam University, and Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University. Next, the colleges and universities coming from China and Thailand will establish a “multi-channel, multi-education-system and multi-level” talents cultivation mode for the relevant major of rail transit, making contributions to the beneficial development of the Chinese-Thai rail transit industry in the aspects of human power and intelligence.
The Asian-international Trade and Investment Association was approved and established by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand in 2010 and composed by the senior politicians, famous scholars and enterprise elites coming from Thailand. The Association is dedicated to the trade and investment services in the new free trade area of Asia (10+6), aiming to promote the economic development of the free trade area and the people-to-people exchange.
