On May 26, Chen Lianren, the executive chairman of “the Belt and Road” Science and Innovation Network (Uganda Branch) and other 3 persons visited our college and entered into a framework agreement for the branch establishment of Zhengzhou Railway Vocational & Technical College in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. Su Dongmin, Kong Fanshi, Dong Lisheng and Ni Ju, the school leaders and the relevant department heads were present in the meeting and signing ceremony.
The Uganda branch was the latest result of our college to expand the scope of international vocational education service and make contributions to the construction of “the Belt and Road”. Upon the several communications and negotiations in the early stage, the parties had reached an extensive consensus for the legal person, Articles of Association, cooperation orientation, investment mode and management mode of the Uganda branch, and finalized the major establishment, school size and teacher arrangement of the branch. In the next step, the parties would actively promote various construction work, cultivate the local professional technology and skill talents, help it improve the rail transit construction and management level and medical health level and radiate and drive each country in East Africa to jointly develop as per the Cooperation Agreement.
“The Belt and Road” Science and Innovation Network was advocated and established in Shanghai in October, 2016. The first batch of member units included Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University, Shanghai Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute for Science of Science, National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center, Lotusland Renewable Energy Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and ten foreign colleges and universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises. The Network is dedicated to the gathering of the consensus and wisdom of the domestic and foreign colleges and universities, enterprises and all the sectors of the community, jointly undertakes the mission of serving the social development of the countries and regions along “the Belt and Road” and commonly creates the “scientific and technical community” of equality, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
