The seventh China-Russia Transportation University Presidents Forum took place in Moscow, Russia, from November 15th to 16th. The forum was hosted by the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation and jointly sponsored by theUniversity of Transportation and the Eurasian International Association. It saw the participation of nearly 200 heads and representatives from transportation institutions in both countries. Key attendees included officials from the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and relevant ministries and enterprises from China and Russia. Tian Daomin, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZZRVTC, led the team as a vice chairman unit to the scene and delivered a keynote speech.

The forum encompassed three main themes: New challenges and solutions in the transportation education field, achievements and new horizons in the transportation science and technology field, and programs and tasks of the Alliance of Presidents of Russian and Chinese Universities of Transportation. During the plenary session on the morning of the 15th, Prof. Li Xuewei, the Chinese President of the Alliance, and Bakanov, the Deputy Minister of Transportation of the Russian Federation, reported on the initial development of the Alliance and the future prospects of Sino-Russian cooperation in transportation. They emphasized the importance of enhancing contact and cooperation between China and Russia in the transportation education and science fields to nurture a large number of talents with professional knowledge and skills urgently needed by the industry, promote the industrial level and international competitiveness of the two countries, and provide complete intellectual support for the development of Bel and Road construction.

In the afternoon, Mr. Tian Daomin, Secretary of the Party Committee of ZZRVTC, delivered a keynote speech on Continuing Traditional Friendship, Creating a Better Future: Sino-Russian Cooperation in Vocational Education on the New Silk Road. He mentioned that this year is the 10thanniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. Over the past ten years, China-Russia bilateral cooperation in education has evolved from concept to action, from vision to reality, achieving fruitful results and benefiting thousands of students. Given the post-epidemic challenges, Mr. Tian Daomin proposed three suggestions: enhancing two-way interaction between teachers to form a high-level international faculty, deepening international scientific research cooperation, and enriching forms of humanistic exchanges by establishing international educational organizations and creating new cooperation platforms. In addition, he emphasized that China-Russia relations are at their historical peak, and China-Russia education cooperation has ushered in a golden era. ZZRVTC is committed to collaborating with Russian counterparts for a better future in China-Russia transportation education cooperation.

The forum is a crucial annual event organized by the Alliance of Presidents of Chinese and Russian Universities of Transportation. The 7thForumtook place as part of the International Transportation Week 2023 exhibition organized by the Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation. On the 16th, participants also engaged in activities related to Transportation Week at the Moscow Trade House Exhibition Center.

During the event, Mr. Tian Daomin communicated and exchanged ideas with the presidents of three Russian partner universities: Russian University of Transportation, St. Petersburg State Transport University, and Ural State University of Railway Transport. Consensus was reached on various collaborative initiatives, including internships for international students in China, joint scientific research, academic conferences, online Chinese language training, winter camp study tours, and joint team participation in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions for university students.

The Alliance of Presidents of Russian and Chinese Universities of Transportation was established in May 2014 at the initiative of representatives from major educational institutions in both countries, comprising 141 member units. This forum marked the first offline gathering post-epidemic and played an active role in fostering exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia in the transportation field.
