The winners of the 2023 China Robotics Competition and RoboCup China were announced on October 28th. ZZRVTC's Speed Express team secured the runner-up (2nd) position in the quadrupedal bionic robot express delivery race (medium-sized group) and was awarded the national first prize. In addition, the big wisdom team won the national second prize. This marks ZZRVTC's inaugural participation in the event, achieving both second place and the top prize at the national level. It is worth noting that ZZRVTC is the only university in Henan Province to be honored in this competition.
The competition drew participation from 260 schools and a total of 1,084 teams representing renowned national institutions such as Tsinghua University, Tongji University, Zhejiang University, Beihang University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, the National University of Defense Technology, and the People's Public Security University of China. The competition garnered interest from more than 5,000 participants.
ZZRVTC places great emphasis on nurturing students' professional skills and fostering scientific and technological innovation. All functional departments and teaching units have been actively organizing for the event since July 2023. The College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship took the lead in establishing the competition team and initiating intensive training. The competitors diligently honed their skills, addressing challenges to enhance both the program and mechanical stability of quadruped bionic robots, consistently enhancing their technical proficiency.The national finals of the competition were held in Quanzhou, Fujian Province, from October 12th–16th. Despite facing formidable opponents, our students exhibited composure in the competition, ultimately achieving outstanding results in the Quadrupedal Bionic Robot Courier Delivery Match. They were awarded with one runner-up, the national first prize, and one national second prize.
China Robotics Competition and RoboCup China are recognized as highly influential and technically advanced robotics discipline competitions for college students and postgraduates in China. They are dedicated to advancing the development of robotics-related disciplines, especially automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, and other disciplines. The competition's technical and academic standards are widely recognized by the colleges and universities. Since 2019, the China Robotics Competition and RoboCup China have been listed in the National Competition List for College Students in General Colleges and Universities, issued by the Chinese Society of Higher Education, for four consecutive years. It stands as a crucial program for the reform of education and teaching in colleges and universities, playing a vital role in cultivating talents for scientific and technological innovation.
