The Friendship Covenant Sino-Russian Folk Sports and Arts Festival, jointly organized by the Sino-Russian Friendship, Peace, and Development Committee and the People's Government of Henan Province, was opened in Zhengzhou on October 11th. The ZZRVTC students’ choir received an invitation to participate in the opening ceremony. Mr. Xia Baolong, Chairman of the China-Russia Friendship, Peace, and Development Committee, Director of the Central Hong Kong and Macao Work Office, and Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Mr. Titov, the Russian Chairman of the Sino-Russian Friendship, Peace, and Development Committee, delivered a speech online. In addition, Mr. Lou Yangsheng, the Party Secretary of Henan Province, and Mr. Morgulov, the Russian Ambassador to China, made speeches. The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Kai, governor of Henan Province.
Upon receiving the task, ZZRVTC prioritized the event despite a tight schedule and heavy workload. Instructors Liu Yi, Zou Lianfeng, and Sun Jiaojiao promptly devised a rehearsal plan in order to ensure a stellar performance. They urgently convened the chorus into intensive training rehearsals in line with the director group’s requirements and the performance of the repertoire. Carefully selecting 30 members for the live performance, and with joint efforts from all participating teachers and students, the renditions of Jasmine and A Night Outside Moscow were successfully executed, receiving high praise from the director's group.
This marked not only the inaugural performance of our students' choir on the Henan TV platform but also provided a rare opportunity for practical experience and stage exposure. It showcased the fruitful achievements of ZZRVTC's public art education and exemplified the commendable spirit of our teachers and students. This event serves as a testament to ZZRVTC's commitment to public art education. The school aims to leverage this experience to further enhance the teaching quality and performance level of public art education and the undergraduate art troupe.
