The Overseas Training Course on Laos Railway Technology, sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, concluded successfully in Vientiane, the capital of Laos,on October 4th. Li Jianlong and Shan Shaoping, teachers from the School of Locomotive and Rolling Stock, were invited to train 45 participants from the Ministry of Transportation of Laos, Railway Vocational and Technical College, and Lao-China Railway Co., Ltd.
This training course, spanning 21 days, commenced on September 14th, 2023. ZZRVTC attached great significance to this initiative and directed the School of Locomotive and Rolling Stock to establish a curriculum development and teaching implementation team for collective discussion and lesson preparation. Tailoring the content of the training course to the actual situation of the China-Laos Railway and the varied learning conditions of the trainees, ZZRVTC achieved a remarkable teaching effect, which was well-received by the Lao trainees and the Ministry of Commerce.
Since the opening of the China-Laos Railway on December 3rd, 2021, up until October 3rd, 2023, the railway has transported more than 21.9 million passengers. Since the launch of the China-Laos Railway International Passenger Train on April 13th, 2023, more than 70,000 passengers from more than 60 countries and regions have traveled across the border on the train. As a flagship project of the China-Laos Belt and Road Initiative, the China-Laos Railway has been operating safely and stably for 22 months, transporting more than 20 million passengers and more than 26 million tons of goods. The China-Laos Railway has opened a new channel for mutually beneficial economic development.
In recent years, the teaching team of railway locomotives at ZZRVTC has actively responded to the national Belt and Road Initiative, providing human resources to aid the development of countries along the Belt and Road. They have showcased the superiority of the vocational education construction mode and experience with Chinese characteristics in international competitions, establishing the vocational education brand of China Railway.
The Overseas Training Course on Laos Railway Technology marks the second time ZZRVTC has conducted overseas training in Laos. This training course is of great significance in promoting the construction of the Laos Railway and talent development, contributing significantly to the cooperation between China and Laos in the railway sector. It will further enhance the level of operation and management of the China-Laos Railway, making a vital contribution to advancing the construction of the China-Laos economic corridor and deepening the establishment of a shared future for China and Laos.
